I Went Home for the New Year and Saw My Mom Serving Tea to the Maid

I came home for the New Year, and the moment I stepped through the door, I was stunned.

My mother was mopping the floor while hooked up to an IV, while the housekeeper I'd hired for her was lounging comfortably on the sofa, eating cherries and scrolling through Douyin.

I was so furious I slapped the housekeeper twice.

To my surprise, she covered her face and cried pitifully as she complained to my father.

My father hurried to explain, saying I'd been spoiled since childhood and had no manners, and asking her not to take it to heart.

My mother stood by, flustered and afraid to say a word.

In that instant, I understood: something was definitely going on here.
