The Consort’s Hilarious Antics: 18 Laugh-Out-Loud Tales of Palace Intrigue with a Twist

[Historical Romance × Harem Intrigue with a Twist × Short Stories × Lighthearted × Romantic] What’s the strangest imperial consort you’ve ever seen? I consider myself the most dutiful empress there could be. I came from the northern frontier as a bride and entered the palace to marry Emperor Xiao Yi. I’ve always worked hard and never treated him like an outsider. He picks up food, I flip the table. He opens a door, I hop in the carriage. He pours tea, I drink it first. He goes to bed, I chat away. At last, one day, he couldn’t take it anymore and snarled, “Get out and go to the Cold Palace!” I beamed. “That’s an option?” ...Xiao Yi passed out in fury. The moment I was born, purple clouds swept in from the east and the imperial star rose. The kingdom’s greatest scholar pronounced, “A daughter of the Wang clan will rule the land.” The late emperor was delighted. He immediately made a pact with my father: Whichever of his sons he chose as crown prince would have to marry me. But he never could have guessed that I would marry three times, and that his Xiao dynasty would end up bearing my surname, Wang! They say the palace is a deep, shadowy place, where a beauty’s charms fade before the emperor’s favor does. But they don’t know that these women are no ordinary damsels. Watch eighteen women of the inner palace go their own way, turn harem intrigue on its head, and rise all the way to the heavens!
