Your Majesty, Mind Your Manners! The Princess Truly Means to Overthrow the Throne

【Clear-headed heroine + taking on the whole world + striving to build a career + bringing down the imperial dynasty】 Before Xiao Rongyu came of age, her father and brothers were killed in battle. The loyal Marquis’s household was left with only her grandmother and Xiao Rongyu. After giving it some brief thought, Xiao Rongyu chose between two paths: first, take in a husband; second, adopt an heir for her elder brother from a collateral branch of the Xiao family. She would never marry and would devote herself to raising her nephew. The Xiao family’s elders were old and its young ones were still children, with wolves circling all around them. At long last, her grandmother made up her mind to enter the palace and ask the Empress Dowager for an edict. Unexpectedly, the Emperor issued an order granting a marriage, assigning Xiao Rongyu as a secondary consort to Prince Jing, the ninth imperial son. Anger, resentment... But in the end, Xiao Rongyu still accepted the imperial decree. Her grandmother’s health had already been poor, and now the decree was a death sentence. Before passing away, her grandmother insisted that Xiao Rongyu submit, whether she liked it or not. But Xiao Rongyu would not submit. She refused! Her grandmother’s death made her see the Emperor’s methods all the more clearly. But she had no interest in those imperial machinations. She only wanted revenge for her father and brothers, and for the Xiao family. And more than that, she wanted to bring down the Yan dynasty! The male lead’s perspective: When did I first see her? It must have been at a palace banquet many years ago, though I don’t remember it. But I clearly remember seeing her when I went to the Xiao family to offer incense. She stood there in plain clothes, cool and stubborn. The second time was at the New Year’s Eve palace banquet, when Father ordered us to marry. And yet, the world is full of twists and turns. The next time I saw her, the old Madam of the Marquis’s household had already passed away. “A Yao, I’m sorry for your loss.” “A Yao, don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you from now on.” “Our Yan family has wronged the Xiao family. If A Yao wants it, then take it.”
