Five years ago, Qin Peisheng took his girlfriend, Lu Ling, back to his hometown of Mi County. What she didn’t know was that he had secretly struck a deal with Zhong Ming, a reporter fallen on hard times. Together, they plotted to expose Tang Sanchuan’s illegal wildlife-slaughtering and smuggling operation. While gathering evidence and trying to escape, Qin Peisheng fell into a reservoir and died.
For five years, Lu Ling returned every Qingming Festival to pay her respects to Qin Peisheng. Then, for no apparent reason, she became entangled in the conspiracy. It turned out that Tang Sanchuan had never stopped killing wild animals over the past five years. Backed by powerful forces, he had only grown more brazen.
With nowhere left to retreat, Zhong Ming joined forces with the police to bring down the organization. But along the way, he nearly lost his life in the wilderness. Just then, a tender presence slipped into the arms of this tough man...
