An accidental kidnapping ten years ago sent Lin Shao, who had once lived a life of exquisite luxury, plunging into an abyss. Her parents died in a car crash, and her family was destroyed.
Ten years later, she cast aside the memories and life of her first decade, took up an axe and chopped through a block of wood, then picked up a plane and smoothed away the arrogance of years past. Finally, gripping a carving knife, she shaped a completely new Lin Shao, cut by cut, blood by blood.
Then she met Fang Di again, the man who had saved her ten years ago, and he unexpectedly entered her life once more.
Behind a wealthy family's wife-murder case, a national-treasure murder case, and one bizarre case after another, lurked a massive drug-trafficking organization called Wangjiang Pavilion.
With danger all around and life-or-death choices ahead, where could they go from here?
If there is no promise of a lifetime, then you are my lifetime.
The content and structure of the book are very good. Shen Yuqing made me uncomfortable with the whole book. His sentence, "I am a good person, but I don't have a good life" made me cover my eyes. It made me cry. When he jumped down, my heart was sad. However, the author did not explain the clues of the crime, and it didn't feel very connected, but the general explanation was clear. It is still a very good book. Although the score is not high, I hope you will not miss it.
After reading the whole book, I can't help but feel sorry for Shen Yuqing. He is a good person, but he has no good rewards.
The characters in this book have very distinct personalities. Su Chen, the rough-and-tumble detective, is enthusiastic, cheerful, and very entertaining; while Lin Shao, the lonely redwood restorer, is reserved and quiet. Their love story makes people feel warm and beautiful, especially the small detail that Su Chen remembers that Lin Shao hates eating garlic is very touching. The plot of this book is also very engaging and makes people want to know what will happen next. I'm looking forward to future developments!
