The Poor Student My Brother Sponsored Stole My Million-Dollar Mooncake

At the Mid-Autumn business banquet, my brother’s scholarship student secretly cut a piece off the custom mooncake I was going to share with everyone. I’d paid a fortune to have the mooncake specially made. It symbolized the auspicious promise of a happy, full moon, and represented our sincerity toward our investors. Now that a big piece was missing, it would be rude to serve it to anyone else. This was my first business partnership, and it meant a great deal to me. In front of everyone, she suddenly dropped to her knees. “I only wanted to take some home and share a bite with my family. They’ve struggled their whole lives and have never tasted anything so sweet...” She suddenly reached out and grabbed my fishtail skirt. With a loud rip, I was exposed in front of the entire crowd. In an instant, I became the laughingstock of the business world, so I cut off all her financial support. When my brother found out, he accused me of having no idea how hard life was for ordinary people. He said he’d make me experience the hardships of growing up poor. In the bitter cold of midwinter, they abandoned me deep in the mountains. Starving and freezing, I died on New Year’s Eve. The scholarship student, meanwhile, was taken in as the Gu family’s daughter and spoiled like a princess. I sank into darkness, consumed by resentment. When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day the scholarship student sneaked off with a piece of the mooncake.
