Siheyuan: Reporting for Duty at the Steel Mill from the Start

A Beijing courtyard house is like a Rubik’s Cube, with every family and every person forming one of its faces. Yang Chen’s arrival is like a powerful twist of the cube. The seemingly stable order is shattered: Yi Zhonghai’s technical-grade assessment is going backward, putting his position in jeopardy; Silly Zhu loses his sense of taste, and the color drains from his life; Liu Haizhong is left weak, Yan Bugui is plagued by chronic leg pain, and Jia Zhangshi suffers from a painful stomach ulcer. Amid the chaos, Yang Chen tries to reshape this Rubik’s Cube of everyday life. With his distinctive wisdom and actions, he makes his influence felt in every corner of the courtyard, turning each face until it takes on a whole new look. And so begins a challenging yet hopeful journey to reshape life in the courtyard.
