The Fake County Magistrate

“When falsehood is taken for truth, truth becomes false; when nothing is taken for something, something becomes nothing.”

Su Junyi, the greatest thief of the twenty-first century, made a name for himself in the underworld with his extraordinary skills and cunning methods. But an accident caused him to transmigrate to the Ming dynasty, where he became a county magistrate who shared his name.

The change in identity came as a huge shock. He had to adapt to an entirely new way of life while facing unfamiliar rules of officialdom and social relationships.

At first, he thought his intelligence and experience would let him handle any complicated situation with ease, but reality proved otherwise. The deceit and backstabbing in official circles left him at a loss, and sometimes he could hardly tell truth from lies.

He had no choice but to learn how to navigate between pretense and sincerity to protect himself and the people he loved from harm.
