I Am the Queen of the Underworld’s Wife

Yu means the sun's fire, burning without end. The Great Emperor of Fengdu, also known as the King of the Underworld, is the god who rules the underworld and its prisons. He holds the highest rank among the underworld deities, governs the underworld, and is the supreme lord of all ghosts. For generations, the men of the Jing family have followed their ancestral instructions, walking along the border between the worlds of yin and yang. They help those in need among the living and perform rites to guide the souls of the dead who are still consumed by resentment. When Jing Yu was born, the King of the Underworld sealed a blood-and-marriage contract with her using the blood of a virgin. Her grandfather, a leading authority in the spirit world, dared not defy his will and could only offer up his granddaughter. He visited again when Jing Yu was a hundred days old, leaving a drop of his blood on her forehead. It quickly became a faint mark. This mark belongs solely to the King of the Underworld and is a symbol of his status in the netherworld. Ordinary people in the living world cannot see it; only those who are not quite normal can. On the day she turned eighteen, Jing Yu's resistance proved futile, and her family still sent her to the King of the Underworld's bed. From then on, he clung to her every day, wanting to sleep with her and have children. Wait, wasn't the Great Emperor of Fengdu supposed to be cold and heartless?
