(Wuxia + light comedy + one female lead + an alternate world + slow-paced story)
The Central Plains are divided into nine provinces and four regions: east, west, south, and north.
On Mount Tianxuan in the Southern Region stands the Donglai school of martial arts, one lineage regarded as the foremost of the twelve martial arts schools of the jianghu.
Chu Changsheng is the seventh disciple under the head of the Donglai school on Mount Tianxuan.
The Heroes’ Gathering is a martial arts tournament organized by the imperial court specifically for members of the jianghu, held once every three years.
To prepare for the gathering a year away, Chu Changsheng sets off down the mountain with his two senior disciples at his master’s request, to gain experience.
But as soon as his unreliable Third Senior Brother leaves the mountain, he spends the silver entrusted to him by their master on wine and women.
Not only does he blow through all their travel money, he also uses Chu Changsheng’s name to sign an IOU for eight thousand taels of silver.
With no other choice, Chu Changsheng has to join his cheap excuse for a senior brother in finding work at the foot of the mountain.
