One night, Chen Yang passes out while trying to uncover a swallowtail butterfly's past, some time after finding a caterpillar. When he wakes, he has arrived in a bizarre, dazzling city. Homeless and adrift, he meets a silver-haired doctor. After leaving the clinic, he encounters a mysterious girl. Her scent is similar to the butterfly's, but her demeanor and everything else about her are different, making Chen Yang even more curious about her. The mysterious girl reveals a secret about Chen Yang's life and death, then corrects his distorted timeline, sending him back to his own. One day after returning to his own timeline, Chen Yang meets a slave girl. The moment he sees her, he finally understands: What happened that night was real!!! He will die in a month. To stay alive, Chen Yang searches for a chance to survive across two timelines, the "present" and the "future." At the same time, he begins to suspect that the "power" he has always been proud of is a blade that will kill the "future."
