Lin Yin's happy family falls apart overnight. He watches his parents leave him behind. He tries to stop them, but all he gets is shouting and beatings. Luckily, his grandmother is still there for him.

But misfortune comes quickly. His grandmother passes away after only two years with him, and he suddenly remembers what Chi Wang once said.

“Anyone who gets close to you will have bad luck. No wonder nobody wants you.”

Chi Wu begins to wonder if his grandmother died because of him.

At sixteen, after his parents divorce, he starts working while attending school.

Life is so hard that he loses hope. Just as he is ready to give up, someone suddenly enters his life.

Lin Yin brings color to his world, helps him fit in with others, takes him home, and lets him feel the warmth of family again.

Everything starts looking up, but misfortune follows close behind.

Lin Yin's grandmother dies.

Chi Wu begins to doubt himself again, convinced that he has brought bad luck to them.

Whenever he is alone late at night, he becomes restless and anxious.

His emotions build up until, at last, they burst out one day.

Lin Yin makes him go to the hospital, where he begins treatment as an inpatient.

Once his condition stabilizes, he is discharged and takes the college entrance exam.

After the exams, Lin Yin starts working, while Chi Wu is kept at home and all the knives are taken away.

This goes on for nearly three months. Then, once again, he sees how utterly exhausted Lin Yin looks.

He begins to blame himself, feeling that he is only dragging Lin Yin down.

On Qixi Festival night, red flowers bloom on his wrist.
