In 2045, scientists finally broke through technological barriers and successfully developed the Dream System, "Great Dream," which could truly connect to the "neurons" in the human brain. At first, people regarded it as no more than an ordinary technological achievement. But as the System was adopted and the number of people experiencing it, known as "players," grew dramatically, it would bring about a series of changes in social development and even the course of human civilization.
