Synopsis

[Scoundrel + Escape + Romance + Consorts + Rich Beauties + Fake Marriage + Illegitimate Child]

An illegitimate son with no right to inherit the throne is hunted by a suspicious king. He flees from place to place, wandering overseas and turning into a scoundrel.

But he's not all bad. While running for his life, he keeps calling himself the future king and somehow stumbles into the paths of 17 rich beauties.

The absurd part is that every one of these rich beauties willingly bears him children and takes pride in it. In the end, they join forces and help the scoundrel claim the throne, making the illegitimate son king for real.

What a strange tale, and what a bizarre book!

The Taoist Told Me to Find a Fairy

Looking for an Elegant Historical Chinese Romance Without Outlandish, Over-the-Top, or Brain-Dead Tropes

I want something with elegant, delicate writing. Not the kind that opens with someone getting disfigured or having their heart cut out. That's too melodramatic and clumsy. And no side characters like concubine-born daughters or female antagonists publicly attacking the heroine at banquets. People like that wouldn't survive three hours in ancient times unless they were faking their deaths. It's so unrealistic.
