Tokusatsu Heroes and Imaginary Universes

In an age when the boundary between reality and fantasy is growing blurry, the weight of rules surpasses the laws of physics. Here, “setting” is power, and “characterization” is a shackle. Beings from imaginary dimensions, from the absurd and outrageous “Pig Walker” to the “Can Crusher” who can shatter any setting, all follow their own unique “character logic” as they roam the shadows of the modern city. Qin Pinghui, a wealthy heir born with a silver spoon in his mouth, could have spent his life indulging in pleasure. Instead, he poured his passion into creating tokusatsu shows. From his pen came the most iconic hero of all: Lian Xinhui, a fictional character who embodied all his passion and ideals. But this creation brought an unexpected calamity. When the otherworldly villain Wangqi tore through the barriers of reality, the shockwaves somehow caused the fictional Lian Xinhui to develop a real consciousness. This newly born hero descended into the real world with a simplistic understanding of “justice.” His uncontrollable power nearly cost the entire city dearly. Faced with a crisis caused by his own creation, Qin Pinghui made a decision that would change his life. He gave up his claim to an immense inheritance and willingly entered the dangerous cycle battlefield, a strange realm specifically created to contain out-of-control beings from imaginary dimensions. “I created him, so it’s my responsibility to teach him,” Qin Pinghui said. On this battlefield where the rules are twisted, Qin Pinghui is no conventional hero. He cannot transform and has no superhuman powers, but he understands the rules of tokusatsu inside out and knows every detail of Lian Xinhui’s character.
