After Ten Years of Being Mocked, I Came Back and Stunned the Internet

Lin He debuted at eighteen and shot to fame overnight after appearing on the Spring Festival Gala! His line, “Close your eyes and don’t open them again, and this life is over, hao~,” earned him tens of millions of fans. His rendition of “Shandan Blossoms Bloom a Brilliant Red” rekindled hope for Chinese-language pop music. Netizens once considered him the ultimate benchmark for deciding whether someone had truly made it big. “However famous you get, can you top Lin He in 2009?” A king who shot to fame overnight was soon driven out of his company for refusing to go along with its money-grabbing plans, then quietly blacklisted. For ten years, rumors that Lin He was “a diva,” “had fallen out with his mentor,” “had a messy private life,” and “had gotten too big for his boots” spread everywhere. Lin He didn’t care, but he was still disheartened enough to retreat from public life. That is, until the deputy director of King of Crossovers badgered him for ages and finally persuaded him to appear on the show. After being criticized for ten years, he decided it was time to come back and see what was going on. With “The Sea,” he sang of the ocean’s vastness and solitude, creating a timeless classic! With “The Yilan Love Story,” he sang of the regrets of ordinary love and brought the entire internet to tears! With “The Winter of Northeast China,” he sang his own heartrending story, and when the suona came in, everyone in the audience got goosebumps!!! And so! Lin He ushered in a new era for Chinese-language pop music!!!
