Believing in Love Amid the Flames: Captain Xu's Heart on Fire

[Tough, stoic fire station captain + beautiful, elegant, aloof traditional Chinese medicine doctor + eight-year age gap romance + both each other’s first love, devoted to one another] As captain of Jinghu City’s First Fire Brigade, Xu Huaisong is known for his cold and stern nature. He thought he would spend his life alone, until a sudden breeze blew into his world. The first time he meets Shen Wanning, he goes to book an appointment with her for one of his team members, but assumes she isn’t very skilled. Later, they work together and organize events, and he is continually impressed by and drawn to her. Soon, he launches a relentless pursuit... What he doesn’t know is that all of this is part of Shen Wanning’s careful plan. Step by step, Xu Huaisong falls into her trap. “Wanning, she’s eight years older than you. What if she’s already an old man?” Shen Wanning: “What’s there to be afraid of? The longer a man holds back, the more obsessed he gets!” “Doctor Shen, won’t you really give me a chance to have dinner with you? I’m sincere!” Shen Wanning: “Oh! No.” Xu Huaisong: “So cruel, Doctor Shen.” Shen Wanning: “Don’t act pitiful. I’m not going!” “Captain Xu, what if I told you I had a boyfriend?” Xu Huaisong: “Actually, I don’t mind being your secret lover.” Shen Wanning: “Being the other woman isn’t exactly respectable.” Xu Huaisong: “If I can have Doctor Shen, I don’t mind being called disreputable.” Everyone on the team agrees that Xu Huaisong treats Shen Wanning differently... Xu Huaisong: “Shen Wanning, why are you running? Do you think I’m going to eat you? Or are you blushing?” Shen Wanning: “N-no, I’m not... Put your clothes back on.”
