Uncle Nine Returns

In the early years of the Republic of China, warlords battled one another, plunging the country into chaos. Too busy fighting over territory, they left the people to suffer for years. Natural and man-made disasters soon followed, and epidemics spread everywhere, leaving the people in misery.

To survive, many were forced to hide deep in the mountains and return to a primitive, savage way of life. Yet every winter, when food grew scarce in the forests, monsters with green faces and fangs appeared near the villages to steal livestock and even kill people!

The story takes place in a town called Jixiang.

Concerned for the people, the Celestial Master Uncle Jiu opens a clinic in town with his two disciples and reopens the long-abandoned charity cemetery outside town to shelter the dead.
