[A doting, sweet-on-the-outside and dark-within powerhouse gong × a clever, adorable, sweet little doctor shou; two strong leads, happy ending, sweet romance, focused on the relationship with the plot as a backdrop.]
An Yi, a fresh university graduate, submitted a resume on a whim and was hired as a sales representative by a company called the Riverside Auction House.
But this job was a little unusual. He had to travel through various settings to retrieve items the auction house wanted to sell, and his life was often in danger.
Thrown in at the deep end, An Yi cursed his shady boss while rushing off on what he was sure was a suicide mission.
To stay alive, An Yi started trying to sweet-talk the powerful men he met in each setting: “Daddy, do you need a loyal little sidekick who’ll go through fire and water for you, keep your bed warm, and treat your illnesses?”
The big boss behind the scenes, who was also his boss: Chi Su raised an eyebrow, looking amused. “Can you really treat illnesses? You’re not some quack, are you?”
An Yi thumped his chest and promised, “My family has practiced medicine for generations. I’m the sole heir for ten generations. Our ancestral rule is to pass it down to sons, not daughters. I’ve studied hard since childhood, all so I can heal the sick and save lives.”
Chi Su agreed to take An Yi on as his sidekick, wanting to see how he would swindle and con his way through things.
But An Yi never imagined that the two of them, who had once tried to out-trick each other, would gradually take a very different turn.
An Yi: “How about you go stand farther away? You’re kind of in the way, and you’re distracting me from my mission.”
Chi Su pressed even closer to his side. “It’s fine. Forget that stupid mission. Romance is more important. Tell me, do you like guys like me?”
Once, An Yi had cursed his boss: “Has this boss been kicked in the head by a donkey and had his brains chewed up by a dog? He’s clearly got something wrong with him. Anyone related to him must be cursed with eight lifetimes of bad luck!”
Later, An Yi planted his hands on his hips, looking smug. “My boyfriend is handsome and rich, and most importantly, he absolutely adores me! I must have done a whole lot of good deeds to find a boyfriend like him!”
