A Guo Fu Romance: Twin Souls, Love for a Hidden Personality

This book is simply a flight of fancy, adapted from the 1995 version of The Return of the Condor Heroes. If you’re willing to accept Yang Guo (Yang Gaizhi) and Guo Fu as a couple, please keep reading. If not, please stay away!

The ideas are wildly imaginative and the plot is absurd, but for the most part it remains similar to the 1995 version.

I recently read another author’s take on a schizophrenic Yang Guo, and it suddenly gave me another idea: perhaps Yang Guo’s split personality comes from there actually being two people inside his body.

Perhaps Mu Nianci was carrying twins, but one took up residence inside the other. The one living inside loved Sister Fu, while the other hated her, making him seem as if he had a split personality.

If two people with completely different personalities shared one body, some parts of the story might make sense. This is just a sudden idea, and my writing may stray from the original, so please don’t mind. I only read bits and pieces of the original. In short, I couldn’t get into it, and ended up reading more analyses instead. The Return of the Condor Heroes feels like two different templates stitched together, with some seams that don’t quite line up, making parts of it feel strange and even disjointed. I already felt that way when I watched the 1995 version.

If you find you can’t keep reading halfway through, please feel free to stop!
