After Confessing, I Married Someone Else

At 27, my grandmother was lying in the hospital, her life counting down. She was traditional in her thinking and regretted that I hadn't married. To let her leave in peace, I worked up the courage to ask Nan Zhi. I asked her if she would marry me. She looked at me as if I were a joke and said disdainfully, "Do you hear yourself?"

"All right, I understand." I turned and left. The next day, I went and registered my marriage with someone else.
