(A heads-up from the start: This novel features two male leads, a melodramatic original-timeline plot, and potentially upsetting content, such as female rivalry. No male pregnancy. It includes worldbuilding, imperfect characters, and powers that aren't limited to low-level apocalyptic abilities. Some powers unlock like game upgrades or dungeon rewards, such as Chu Yi's creation ability.) As a side character and cannon fodder, he really has had a rough fate. Receiving those memories was the betrayal Chu Yi found hardest to accept. In the future, among the stars, Chu Yi had to repeat a year before finally getting into his dream university. Two months into his studies, his classmates passed around “strawberries” with their teeth, and Chu Yi and his best friend, Xie Qinglan, were forced onto the road to survive a global apocalypse. But a dream before the apocalypse told Chu Yi that this was merely a parallel world tainted by a game System, and that he was a side character and cannon fodder in it. His best friend was the protagonist of this world and its destined savior. As the virus spreads and infections at the school surge, stay tuned for the start of the apocalypse dungeon: Life on the run in the apocalypse + butterfly effects across a vast world + thrilling plot twists + humanity warped beyond recognition + explorations of its dark side.
