I Love You All as I Love Life

I was born into a broken, impoverished family, a place filled with violence and abuse.

My father was a hopeless alcoholic, and he drove my mother away. My older sister was gravely ill, but we had no money for treatment. Every day she lay in bed, struggling to draw the faintest breath, and looked at me with gentle, tender eyes.

My younger sister was still school-aged. Her youth was like fireworks waiting to bloom, but in the end…

In this life of near-total despair, a ray of hope shone into his dark world.
