Synopsis

My family has a rule: the red candles of life and death must burn all night without going out.

I’m not as beautiful as my older sister, and I always smell of ointment because I have to rush home every day to tend the candles. My classmates all laugh and call me “the Candle Girl.”

One day, the man who had been following my sister forced his way inside with ill intentions. I threw him into the corpse pool.

My sister sighed softly. “We can use him for the next human candle.”

Looking for books similar to The System Grants Me Eternal Life, and I’ll Eventually Become Invincible. I want to read about a life different from mine, with adventures on a grand scale that I could never experience myself. Not the author’s fever-dream fantasies, where every protagonist has a different backstory. I want to understand it. But...
