Su Qiyue and Gu Huaizhi have been childhood sweethearts, engaged since they were little. But Gu Huaizhi has always looked down on Su Qiyue for being lazy and unaccomplished.
Gu Huaizhi wants to break off their engagement and warns her with disgust, “I will never marry you! I'll only ever love Xiaoyi. You're not fit to hold a candle to her.”
Even so, Su Qiyue insists on honoring their engagement.
Gu Huaizhi is convinced that Su Qiyue is madly in love with him.
Later, after the person he loves betrays and schemes against him, he gradually realizes how wonderful Su Qiyue is.
He prepares an engagement ring, carries a bouquet of flowers, dresses up, and knocks on Su Qiyue's door.
But the person who opens it is his uncle, Gu Yanjing.
A powerful, ruthless man of high standing, rumored to have no interest in women, and a downright lunatic.
Gu Yanjing looks down at him and boasts in a sugary, taunting tone, “She was worn out last night. What do you want?”
It doesn't feel good to look at, it's not very attractive, there are too many holes dug, and it makes me feel unhappy to watch it.
