Synopsis

A sickly beauty × a great general At the arrangement of the Qi emperor, Lin Wanqing, the Lin family daughter who had long been recuperating at Wan Feng Temple outside the capital, was betrothed to General Ji Qingyang, who had just returned to the city. The announcement stirred resentment on the general’s behalf. Everyone in the capital knew the Lin family was a disgrace to the great clans. With the imperial consort as their backer, they ran wild in the city, even daring to assault a royal princess. Some marveled at the emperor’s preferential treatment of the Lin family, while others cursed him as a foolish ruler who favored them above all. The Lin family themselves took it as a sign of the emperor’s trust, and their conduct grew even more outrageous. Lin Wanqing and Ji Qingyang, the two people at the center of it all, understood the emperor’s intentions. They both gazed out at the bright moon, their expressions impossible to read. The Lin family was adrift, surrounded by wolves and tigers. One wrong move could spell total ruin. Torn between family and love, Lin Wanqing did not know which way to turn. His father’s death and the sea of blood left in its wake weighed on Ji Qingyang. He was determined to stir up the capital, but with Lin Wanqing caught up in this feud, hesitation began to creep into his heart. He could never bring himself to lower the blade in his hand. Yet whenever he dreamed, the restless ghosts of the Ji family cried out in his ears. What choice could he make? Caught in a web of schemes and intrigue, neither of them could escape or evade the storm sweeping through the capital, not with their families behind them.

Looking for High-Quality Angst 🥹 Thanks!

I’m looking for high-quality tearjerkers you’ve been keeping to yourselves, with characters who have sound values! 🫴!! I want a tragic love story, not a story that tortures the female lead 🥹🥹 No kidney, heart, or lung gouging at the drop of a hat 💦💦 Either a happy or sad ending is fine. I’m begging you for recommendations!

Please Recommend Some Books, Thanks 🙏🏻, Friends

Looking for a novel where the male lead returns from abroad to the city. I can't remember the beginning, but at one point he gets injured and all the female leads go crazy. I think one of them is a mafia boss, another is a CEO, and another is a high-ranking military official. Please help me find it.
