A chance reunion at the Youth Hostel Association brings two former middle-school sweethearts, who lost touch long ago, back into each other's lives.
After all these years, she thought their reunion would be a happy one. Instead, he is just as obnoxious as ever, and still seems to enjoy teasing her.
After witnessing his parents' arguments and eventual divorce, he lost interest in romance and marriage. He resents any girl who shows him affection, and even gives up the chance to attend a better school just to escape one girl's pursuit.
But then he meets her. As they spend time together, feelings slowly begin to grow. One night, after a few drinks, he can no longer keep them bottled up. He asks her to meet him alone and bravely confesses. She, who had once shown interest in him, tells him she needs time to think it over...
He panics and tries to run, but she catches him by the wrist. “I like you. Why won't you give this a chance?”
