Two years ago, He Shuyan, the daughter of a duke, slaughtered Xijun's entire family over a single piece of clothing. Her parents died horribly, her elder sister was humiliated and killed, and a fire reduced the family's little tavern to ashes.
Xijun dreamed of cutting He Shuyan to pieces and cursed her to suffer a terrible death in every lifetime.
Two years later, after painstakingly arranging to become a servant, Xijun entered the prince's residence and became the concubine of Xiao Chenyi, the God of War.
She trod carefully and planned every step, until at last she dragged Princess Consort He Shuyan down into the mire.
Watching Xijun claw her way out of a hellish sea of flames, Xiao Chenyi felt a stabbing pain in his heart.
He asked, "From beginning to end, there was never a place for me in your heart, was there?"
