My Girlfriend Went to Eat the Neighbor’s Big Brother’s Cake When I Proposed

On my girlfriend Lu Chenwei’s birthday, I proposed to her in front of our friends and family.

But just as I knelt on one knee with the diamond ring in hand, Lu Chenwei’s phone rang. It was her neighbor, Jiang Ling, whom she’d known since childhood.

“Weiwei, I made you a cake with my own hands. Want to come try it?”

After hanging up, Lu Chenwei left me behind without a second thought and went to eat cake with him.

This was the thousandth time she’d chosen Jiang Ling over me.

I cleaned up the mess by myself. By the time I was done, it was already evening.

Then I saw Jiang Ling’s post on his social media: “Every time, I can feel how much you care about me.”

Lu Chenwei replied in the comments: “You’ll always be my first choice.”

I gave the post a like, then blocked and deleted him.
