Lao Wen, You Dropped Your Partner

One day, Professor Wen, who had been struggling to figure out how to win He Xi over, adjusted his black-rimmed glasses and said solemnly, “He Xi, let’s get married.”

He Xi looked at him with disdain. He reminded her on schedule every week, more punctual than her period: “I have no money, no house, no car. I’m a complete zero.”

Professor Wen smiled and casually pulled out a bank card, a property deed, and a driver’s license. He patted his chest. “No problem. I have all of those. I’ll take care of you.”

He Xi was at a loss for words. With a high-IQ professor like this, she could come up with eight hundred excuses to turn him down, and he’d counter with a thousand arguments.

Hmph! Professors really are beasts. Nobody works the angles better than they do.
