Marriage Above All

While playing with her child at an amusement park, Zhu Yu heard someone call her from behind. She turned around and saw her husband, whom she hadn't seen in more than three years. She had never been one to drag things out. By her second sentence, she was asking for a divorce. Her husband agreed so readily that she hardly knew what to do. There hadn't even been any dispute over property, but some time after the divorce was finalized, her ex-husband seemed like a different person. Zhu Yu couldn't help feeling as though she had started dating a mature man all over again. After more than three years of work in seclusion, Cheng Du returned to find that his home had been sold and he couldn't get in touch with his wife. He went to a class reunion to look for her, and, as luck would have it, she was there. His wife had a child of around two who called her “Mom.” His first words were, “Long time no see.” While Cheng Du was still reeling with mixed emotions, his wife said something that made his heart churn even more. “Let's go get the divorce finalized!” Honestly, why settle for enjoying a perfectly good marriage when you can have an “affair” instead?
