Back to the Future: Us in the Story

No System, no CP, no harem. Two protagonists, one man and one woman, and one of them will break your heart. Few satisfying moments, low sweetness.

A girl imprisoned in a dark, freezing cell received a book containing a short story.

“In this world, the [Girl] was imprisoned by the [Demon] in a [Dungeon], and the [Hero] defeated the [Demon].”

That was the whole story, but the girl was still dissatisfied. Just like her own situation, she hoped the ending would have the [Hero] rescue the [Girl], not merely defeat the [Demon]. So she added many [Events] between the [Beginning] and the [Ending].

She hoped the protagonist wouldn't kill the villain, but would instead [Rescue] the [Girl], who had been consumed by the [Demon] in her heart.

She wrote and rewrote, searching for a logical, satisfying ending.

At last, the story turned a page. After many attempts, she began again and wrote a new chapter.
