The Genius Baby

My sister-in-law bought some local folk medicine from someone at a high price, claiming it was a miracle cure.

She said that if a pregnant woman took it, she'd give birth to a child prodigy.

As a doctor, I kindly warned her that the medicine contained large amounts of hormones, and prolonged use would seriously affect the baby's development.

But my sister-in-law wouldn't listen. She accused me of being jealous that she could give birth to a genius son.

All I could do was sneer and support her decision.

Only after she gave birth, when the whole family looked at the baby in the swaddling clothes, did they stare in shock and burst into tears.
