Yan Buluo

Yan Pai was beaten by his father as a child and lost his hearing in his right ear. He was raised by his maternal grandfather.

When he accompanied his grandfather to the palace, he met the Crown Prince. The two played together and gradually fell in love.

But the Crown Prince was the heir to the throne, destined to take three wives and four concubines. Yan Pai's grandfather believed he was no good, so he resigned from office to avoid him and took Pai traveling across the land.

After ascending the throne, the Emperor took Pai as his consort, but once he had her, he stopped cherishing her. Pai was bullied by the other consorts, while he looked on coldly and even blamed her for being weak. Heartbroken, Pai fled with her daughter and hid in a medical valley. After searching far and wide, he found her and brought her back to the imperial capital, where they lived outside the palace. He planned to punish the Empress and make Pai Empress, but the furious Empress had Pai killed.
