Qin Huairu secretly gets pregnant by accident after an affair with a married man from a neighboring village, Brother Wang.
To keep the affair from coming to light, Qin Huairu decides to make He Shengli take responsibility.
But He Shengli, whose soul has transmigrated into this body, sees through Qin Huairu's scheme and refuses to be her fall guy.
After turning Qin Huairu down, He Shengli marries Xu Huizhen, a legendary businesswoman from the capital.
With Xu Huizhen's support, He Shengli appears to lead a lazy life, while secretly building up his strength.
With no other choice, Qin Huairu turns to Jia Dongxu for help.
This sets He Shengli and the Jia family against each other, and Jia Dongxu is constantly picking fights with him.
He Shengli teases Jia Dongxu: “Dongxu, your son Banggeng doesn't look a thing like you. You should get a paternity test.”
Jia Dongxu angrily replies, “You're making things up out of thin air!”
