Also known as The Apple of Mr. Lu’s Eye

[Marriage first, love later + slow burn + sweet and doting + no angst + a coming ‘I’m so glad I fell for you’ moment + happy ending + both virgins]

(A considerate workplace busy bee & a refined, aloof business tycoon)

Lu Ruan & Lu Jingzhou (seven-year age gap) (not a strong female lead) (the male lead doesn’t smoke)

(All characters get paired up, no single dog left behind)

To escape the marriage her adoptive mother arranged, Lu Ruan hurriedly went on a blind date.

At the date, Lu Jingzhou spoke with the sharpness of someone used to being in charge. “I like independent women, so I don’t want you clinging to me all the time. I’m busy with work and won’t have time for you!”

After they registered their marriage, he repeated his warning several times. “My grandmother forced me to marry you. Don’t mention our relationship when we’re out!”

Lu Ruan met the man’s long, deep-set eyes. “All right. We’ll get divorced in six months.”

Who would have thought the man would turn out to be the jealous type? Any young man who so much as appeared beside her was treated as a romantic rival!

Six months later, Lu Ruan wins an award, and the man can barely keep the grin off his face. “That’s my wife!”

…

Lu Ruan: “Didn’t you say we’d get divorced? Why are you still climbing into my bed every night?”

Lu Jingzhou: “I was worried you’d be afraid sleeping alone.”

Lu Ruan: “Aren’t you the one who’s afraid?”

Lu Jingzhou: “I wouldn’t mind that either.”

…

One day, Lu Ruan realizes that the man who constantly begs for hugs and kisses looks an awful lot like

The world’s richest man?
