After I Transmigrated Into a Book, the Background Character Got a Cheat-Fueled Life

[A heroine who grows stronger + imaginative fantasy + plot-driven, not a power fantasy + a touch of ensemble cast + male lead mostly in the background + women stronger than men + bad ending] Ji Yunshu, a college student from a happy family, transmigrates into a book and becomes a poor high school student with the same name, an insignificant character in the story. The original Ji Yunshu had an exceptional talent for magic. Unfortunately, her grandmother’s moment of carelessness cost her the chance to study it, and her cousin, who had bullied her since childhood, took that opportunity instead. After transmigrating into the book, Ji Yunshu finally gets the chance to practice magic with the help of a little elf. When her classmates bully her, she fights back. Her aunt and uncle keep trying to get money from her grandmother? They even chop at the door of her grandmother’s house! No way to stop them? The police can’t help? Then kill them. An old professor has practiced bitterly for more than fifty years, yet still can’t ascend to immortality. He goes mad and kills indiscriminately, with no one daring to stop him. She dares. She has never been afraid, not when it comes to getting home... Her rapist “father” falls on hard times and shows up begging with his daughter by the original Ji Yunshu, his child from another woman. Has he no shame? She thought Heaven had taken pity on her by giving her an extraordinary talent. Later, she learns that her gift is hereditary. After five years of cultivation, Ji Yunshu is about to ascend to immortality. But she never expected the person she trusted most to stop her. Everyone knows that Ji Yunshu only needs to climb the heavenly ladder when it appears to become immortal. But when the ladder appears, she never shows up. Soon afterward, news spreads that she has killed herself... Content warning: This is not a traditional (or perhaps mainstream) fantasy cultivation novel. There are no cultivation stages from Qi Refining to Tribulation Transcendence, though spiritual roots do exist. It is set in a fictional modern world. The story comes entirely from my own imagination. The heroine is not all-powerful, and the elf is not a System. It has its own thoughts.
