Caught Running a Side Hustle: They Asked If I Could Modify a J-20

[Technology to strengthen the nation] + [military industry] + [war and terror] Zhao Zhennan transmigrated and became an entrepreneur with ties to the government. Meanwhile, after discovering that the reason China was being strangled by foreign tech restrictions was that someone had put on a sweater inside out, the country launched a sweeping investigation. When a stack of photos was slapped down in front of Zhao Zhennan, he was stunned. Weren’t these his company’s drones? The customer had said they wanted to test them, but how did they... “Did your company sell all these products?” “Yeah. We do a little side business. The customer is always right...” “But why does this drone have such a huge payload?” “To spray pesticides! The customer said they have a big pesticide load to spray...” “Why did you put an active phased-array radar on a drone?!” “The customer said they have a lot of wild boars where they live, so they wanted to use it to hunt them...” “Where are you going to find wild boars in the desert?” “No wild boars? It can shoot pesky pigs too...” “Fine, fine. I have one last question!” “Go ahead...” “Can the J-20 be modified?” “Huh? It can be modified. We could even upgrade it to fifth-and-a-half-generation standards, but...” “But what?” “It’ll cost extra...” Everyone present was dumbfounded. Could modifying a fifth-generation fighter really be that simple?
