Bastard CEO

After he promised to take responsibility, Su Zhi chose to marry a man she had met only a few times. But on the first day of their marriage, she learned about her new husband’s habits: he was a neat freak who liked being alone. So Su Zhi took a step back and moved into the guest room, careful not to intrude on Ling Ye’s private space. Yet in the years that followed, he came home even less often than he stayed in hotels. In their first year of marriage, rumors of his affairs with other women were already everywhere.

“It’s all made up. There’s no need to explain.”

Su Zhi chose to believe Ling Ye’s words and even helped him explain things to his family.

But her repeated compromises only gave him room to grow closer to his first love. While the Ling family pressured her to have a child, she heard that his first love was pregnant.

Su Zhi decided to leave behind a life that felt like widowhood. She took off her wedding ring, and before leaving, asked the housekeeper to send Ling Ye her best wishes.

She decided to start over and reclaim the career she had been forced to give up for marriage. But on her wedding anniversary with Ling Ye, she saw the news that he had proposed to his first love.

Perhaps out of spite, Su Zhi decided then and there to leave the city, which held no happy memories for her, and disappear.

Much later, when she returned, she was still driven into a corner with nowhere to run. At her lowest point, she finally got the divorce certificate she had wanted and shed her identity as Mrs. Ling.

Su Zhi had always believed that Ling Ye’s changes were an act, and that everything he did was simply to get together with his first love.

But along the way, she began to notice how his attitude toward her had changed. Ling Ye kept pestering her, refusing to give her the chance to get away for good.

“How about a passionate romance with your ex-husband?”

“You jerk!”
