The Mongol Invasion of the West

This is a historical novel about Genghis Khan's western campaign in the 13th century.

The Mongol invasion of the west was one of the most world-shaking historical epics of its time. From the Central Plains and Central Asia to Eastern Europe, Russia, and the Arabian Peninsula, Genghis Khan led the Mongol cavalry from victory to victory, striking terror into the peoples of many lands. The campaigns left a deep mark on local history and culture, as well as an indelible memory for generations to come. Numerous books around the world record this history, but this historical novel is among the most successful, and has had the greatest influence in Western literary and historical circles, an influence that continues to this day. Although some of its views are biased, it restores the historical reality of the era as objectively as possible and is a great work well worth reading. This is a translated and adapted version of The Genghis Khan Trilogy, the acclaimed work by Soviet writer Vasily Yansky. Written in 1940, the trilogy later won the Stalin Prize for Literature. Work on this book began in 2017, and after ten years of refinement and extensive consultation of academic works by Chinese scholars, the manuscript was completed in December 2024. The novel comprises four volumes, numbered One, Two, Three, and Four, and runs to over a million Chinese characters.
