Horror Stories 1

I have a mad mother. My father bought her for three thousand yuan. From as far back as I can remember, my mother never had a good day. She worked from dawn until dusk, ate nothing but leftovers, and wasn't even allowed to sit at the table. My father, who loved his drink, often beat and cursed her, too. Though my mother was a little simple-minded, she never cried when he hit her. She would only grin foolishly at me. When I was a little older, my usually quiet mother suddenly snapped. While my father was drunk and tormenting her, she bit him to death. My father died a horrible death. The village doctor used two handfuls of incense ash, but couldn't stop the bleeding. Grandmother was furious. She tied my mother to the doorframe and beat her with a shoe, kicked her, and burned her with charcoal. But my mother didn't make a sound. Tears streamed down her face as she grinned at me with a mouth smeared in blood. Her smile looked strange. I was so frightened by my father's death that I didn't know to protect my mother. I just stood nearby, staring like a fool. Grandmother tied my mother up with a dead knot. No one could undo it unless they cut it with a sharp knife.
