It’s the year China’s Singer 2024 international edition goes live, streaming every moment: live vocals, no pitch correction, one take. The show pulls the curtain back on the Chinese music scene. Black American singer Shanti Mo and Canadian singer Fa Xiya arrive in full force… One after another, domestic singers politely “decline” to compete, while the “pitch-correction masters” want nothing to do with the show! Li Ye makes a declaration: “I’m Li Ye, a singer from China. I am the darkness before dawn, here to defend our homeland! I’m ready to take them on!” With “Boundless Lands,” he sings of his boundless homeland and boundless love, bringing China’s rich heritage to life; with “Dragon Scales of Heaven and Earth,” he sets the internet ablaze and rekindles the passion of the descendants of the dragon; then songs like “A Young China,” “Serve the Country with Utmost Loyalty,” “The Sailor,” “As You Wish,” “Rivers, Mountains, Stars, and Light,” and “Thousands of Mountains and Rivers” follow, shaking the music world to its core. Singer 2024, I’m Li Ye, and I’m here to become the King of Music!
