Seng Gelinqin, a Mongolian nobleman and a general in the late Qing Dynasty. The Borzigit clan was from the Horqin Left Wing Back Banner.
In the fifth year of Daoguang's reign, he attacked the prince of Horqin County. In 1834, he was awarded the title of Minister of the Imperial Palace and the Minister of the Imperial Guard. In the third year of Xianfeng's reign, he was the Counselor and led troops to Zhuozhou. Prince Tonghui and the imperial ministers won the victory and blocked the Northern Expedition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
In May 1857, the British and French forces invaded north, and he was appointed as the imperial envoy to prepare for the Dagu coastal defense. In 1859, the British and French allied forces invaded Dagu again. The patriotic officers and soldiers fought back and severely damaged the invading army. In August 1860, the British and French forces landed in Beitang and invaded Beijing. He was defeated in Dagu, Tianjin and Tongzhou, and was stripped of his title and dismissed from his post.
In the tenth year of Xianfeng's reign, due to his meritorious service in suppressing the Nian army, he was reinstated as imperial minister and prince. At the beginning of 1865, he led the Mongolian cavalry to launch a large-scale attack on the Nian Army, and suffered repeated defeats. Later, he was introduced to Caozhou, Shandong by the Nian army, surrounded, annihilated and beheaded, and all the Qing troops under his command were destroyed.
