The Cook and the Female General

A slow-paced food story. The heroine is reborn, romance plays a small role, and the latter half touches a little on political intrigue. The setting is entirely fictional. There is more than one male lead, and none of them are perfect. (They're all pretty awful.) Be careful if that's not your thing! In a teahouse, the storyteller snaps his fan shut and taps it on the elm table. “They say that in Wenzhou there was an extraordinary person, one who could rally a crowd with a single call, draw followers from far and wide, and conquer cities without sending a single soldier into battle. From a thousand miles away, she could take a man's life...” The audience begins to guess: “An assassin? Or a hero?” The storyteller smiles smugly. “A woman general who was also a chef.” Xiu Tingyu never expected that chef, woman, and general would all describe her. In her previous life, she had just opened her own restaurant in a time of chaos when she died in an accident. Heaven, however, gave her the chance to live again. So Xiu Tingyu takes up her iron wok spatula and raises her cleaver, ready to start as a street vendor and build her business step by step, making it bigger and better than ever! Who could have guessed that the farther she went, the more the path veered off course, and the stranger her customers' requests became? “You're so good at cooking. You could help me win people over and make them feel right at home, couldn't you?” Xiu Tingyu thinks it's a piece of cake. “You can get your hands on so many ingredients and you have connections everywhere. You could find out what the enemy troops are up to, right?” Xiu Tingyu grits her teeth. “I suppose I could.” “You do business all over the world. Becoming a general and gathering provisions for an entire army shouldn't be a problem, right?” Xiu Tingyu: “???” Does anyone remember that she's just a chef who cooks for a living?
