On the first snowfall of the year, I saw someone I hadn’t seen in a long time.
When Qi Chi was twelve, she met Ji Ziyu. For the first time, she felt that being alive was a beautiful thing. In the end, though, she willingly cut off her own path to survival for him.
Ji Ziyu set five goals for himself in life. First, avenge his mother. Second, study hard and give his grandmother a better life. Third, stay by Qi Chi’s side forever. Fourth, give Qi Chi a home. Fifth, never meet the person he once knew on the road to reincarnation.
Looking back, he failed to keep every promise he made…
One day, the media reported that Ji Lin, chairman of the Tianlan Group, had been brutally attacked without cause. He had been stabbed thirty-two times, yet none of the wounds were fatal. From then on, he could only spend his days in a wheelchair, barely clinging to life.
Later, the suspect turned himself in. An officer asked him why he had killed and what he had hoped to accomplish.
The man raised his eyes calmly. In his hand was a painting bearing only five words: “What I promised her…”
In the twelfth year, in the depths of winter, snow fell heavily that day. With no way back, a figure lay in a pool of blood, their face serene and peaceful, their body covered in snow.
At last, the sky grew bright, and the one who had been gone returned.
“Defendant Ji Ziyu, will you appeal?”
“I accept the verdict.”
“Will you regret it?”
“Of course not, as long as you remember that I love you.”
【May you escape your suffering and find your way to spring】
