The Rise and Fall of the Way of Go

Before he died, a billionaire locked a document transferring his assets into a safe at a Swiss bank. The code was split into two parts, each held by a different person. They would have to meet at the bank and open the safe together to inherit his fortune. One was his adopted daughter; the other was someone his disciple was to select and train. He told them the first move from their respective chess manuals, which gave them the first two digits of their individual codes. Then the two would face off in a top-level chess match, held as a public contest. The final two digits of each code would be determined by the last two moves of the most correct solution in the chess manual. Together, they would then open the safe at the Swiss bank, inherit the billionaire's fortune, and build his business empire into something even greater.

More importantly, this book, fueled by a powerful sense of national pride, celebrates our Chinese forebears, who were unafraid of Japanese imperialism's brutality and defended the essence of our national culture to the death, choosing honorable ruin over shameful survival. The younger generation that came of age after reform and opening up pours its love for the Party and the people into the socialist cultural and spiritual movement to promote our national culture. As the characters strive to solve the chess game titled “Complete Victory in the War Against Japan,” their fates rise and fall in a strange and moving story. My thanks to Tomato Free Novels. In less than a year, it has given me the joy of writing once again.
