Reunited After Years Apart, My Ex Takes Me to Get Our Marriage License

Reunited after years apart + rekindled romance + fake-substitute trope + teahouse owner and the Su circle’s heir To save her grandfather’s teahouse, Shen Xigui racks her brains trying to secure financing. She never expects that instead of landing an investment, she’ll be pressured into marriage, only to have her awful ex catch her in the act. Han Yu’s arrogance is plain on his face as he sneers, “Never thought I’d see you like this.” Seeing her predicament, he proposes a marriage of convenience. They’ll each get what they need, then divorce when the contract expires. Clinging to her last shred of hope, she asks, “Why me?” Han Yu smiles carelessly. “Because you’re pretty, easy to deal with, and make great tea. You’re exactly the type my grandfather likes.” In college, Shen Xigui thought she was lucky enough to win the heart of this unattainable man. She had no idea she was just a stand-in for the woman he truly loved. To save face, she broke up with him, and the two of them fought like porcupines. The golden boy Han Yu was so furious that he threatened, “Don’t come crawling back and begging me to take you back!” Once, when he was drunk, he nestled into her neck, looking as wounded as a child. “Xixi, I’ve missed you so much all these years. I told you not to come back and beg me to take you back, and then you really never came. I regret saying that so much.” When she learns that the woman he has always loved is back, she tells herself her job is done and offers to divorce him and step aside. The ever-proud Han Yu finally lowers his head. Eyes bloodshot, he grabs her and chokes out, “Xixi, I’m begging you. Can we please not get divorced?” She smiles bitterly. “Your first love is back. The cinnabar mole in your heart will turn into a mosquito stain.” Han Yu lays it all out. “Xixi, the one I can’t forget is you. You’re my first love and the cinnabar mole in my heart. It’s always been you. You’re no mosquito stain…”
