Back then, Lady White Snake was trapped beneath a golden alms bowl by Fahai and stood on the brink of death. To protect Xu Xian and her son, Xu Shilin, she risked her life to shove the bowl away and told Little Green to flee with father and son.
After making sure Xu Xian and his son were safe, Little Green went north to Huangya Mountain to avenge her sister. There she chanced upon the Red-Browed Immortal and followed him, training painstakingly until she acquired an invulnerable body. On her way back to Hangzhou, she found Xu Shilin, the son of Lady White Snake and Xu Xian. Little Green personally taught him martial arts, and he later won the top honor in the military examinations.
After Xu Shilin earned the top honor, Little Green told him the truth about his origins and helped him split open Leifeng Pagoda to free Lady White Snake. The sisters, having seen through worldly life, went to their birthplace at Huangya Mountain in the northern frontier to live in seclusion and cultivate, hoping to attain immortality. During this time, Little Green met Ahan, a general stationed at the Great Wall. It was love at first sight, and the two fell deeply in love, beginning a stirring romance. But a white fox interfered in their relationship, sowing discord between them. This sparked an open and covert struggle among the White Snake, Green Snake, and the white fox.
