Blazing wilderness and starry river: a bright, dazzling future lived in freedom

-

In Shen Lingxing’s world, there was nothing in life she could control.

She had no lofty ambitions, no colorful life, no family, and no close friends.

Her world was lonely, dark, and utterly monotonous.

The only way to keep the one person who was both her family and friend was to work hard and earn money.

She had planned to live that way for the rest of her life.

But then, one day, Jiang Wanzhou appeared like a lost god.

After 6,362 days of longing, he finally fell from the sky and came to her side.

She had been excited, happy, overjoyed, and moved...

Even if it were only once, she wanted to be selfish and stay by his side.

But she had forgotten that gods and mortals walked different paths.

She couldn’t selfishly drag him into this muddy dust, this world of endless darkness where tomorrow would never come.

-

Jiang Wanzhou turned his grand joy and ideals

into the most dazzling dream of his youth.

He was certain the dream would never end. He was certain tomorrow awaited him.

But that torrential rain poured down over him.

He never made it from the desolate, withered autumn

to the spring brimming with life again.

From then on, though daylight shone bright,

the colorful eyes of the boy who had once looked forward to the future

never again held a glimmer brighter than gray.

Shen Lingxing: Because of my family, I wanted to stake everything on fighting fate. But then he appeared, and all I wanted was to stay by his side, year after year.

Jiang Wanzhou: My genetic condition left me paralyzed, and I wanted to end my life. But because of her, I want to live to a hundred.
