[Badminton] [Fanfiction] [Women’s doubles] [Partly fictional setting + golden finger] [No romance; I have no idea why this turned into a story with two female leads] [Match-by-match play-by-play] (The cover background appears after Chapter 1. The author is terrible at badminton, so please go easy on me and let me know if anything’s wrong, orz.)
“After a grueling three-game battle, these young players born in the 2000s showed us what the Olympic spirit means: fighting tenaciously and never giving up.”
When the qilin appears, all troubles vanish. They carved a path through blood and fire, and stood together through the storms, fighting side by side.
At 17, Song Anlin never imagined she’d switch from women’s singles to women’s doubles. Nor did she expect that at 21, she would step onto the Olympic court alongside Tang Qi.
Tang Qi joined the second team at 16. She was one of the most talented women’s doubles prospects of her age group. A left-handed player with a formidable backcourt attack, she seemed cut from the same cloth as Jia Yifan, the first-team senior she partnered with.
She came from Jiangsu, and she came from Guangdong. They met when China’s women’s doubles team was at a low point, and together they would make their own glory.
“We’re a team, so even though it was my first time playing in a knockout match, I knew they were right behind me.” That was their interview after reaching the semifinals of the 2021 Sudirman Cup.
“We can prove that the Chinese women’s team has never been beaten by fear. We can shoulder this responsibility!” That was their interview after the 2022 Uber Cup.
Through their actions, they proved that the new generation could take on great responsibilities and carry the weight of China’s badminton honors.
How lucky I am to have met you on this journey, and to have you by my side.
The visuals are great and the story is told well.
